Jewish Life at Camp

Modeh Ani

Last updated on 01 Apr, 2025

Every morning at camp, we head to the farm for our daily morning gratitude practice called Modeh Ani (I am grateful). Our goal is to start the day with intention, awareness, appreciation, and gratitude. During this morning ritual time, campers choose from options such as spirited morning shacharit (prayer), yoga, meditation, harvesting, singing, nature art, and more. This choice-based morning ritual time lasts about 20 minutes and is a camp favorite, which allows campers to engage in ways that feel relevant, accessible, and fun.
